Ioannis Papaioannou

Attorney at Law

Ioannis Papaioannou is an Attorney at the Supreme Court of Greece (Areios Pagos), with extensive courtroom experience in civil, commercial and banking law. He has maintained a law office in Thessaloniki since 2000, handling cases of significant legal and economic importance for individuals, professionals and businesses.

Born in Preveza and raised in Munich, he holds a law degree from the Democritus University of Thrace and an LL.M. from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. His legal career combines Greek courtroom practice with a German legal education — a combination that shapes his approach to complex cases: precise, methodical and strategically minded.

In recent years he has concentrated a significant part of his practice on banking law cases, enforcement proceedings, foreclosure auctions, objections against payment orders and disputes with funds and debt management companies. His practice is not limited to passive defence of the borrower, but includes a full review of the claim, its legitimacy, the enforcement acts, interest charges, fees and the chain of debt transfer.

Particular emphasis is placed on protecting the home and assets of debtors facing payment orders, seizures and foreclosure auctions. His approach combines judicial defence with substantive negotiation — aiming not merely at temporary relief from pressure, but at a genuine strategic solution.

He also heads the legal team of the Association of Borrowers and Consumer Protection of Northern Greece, actively supporting borrowers and consumers facing over-indebtedness, bank claims and enforcement proceedings. This role reflects his consistent engagement with debtor protection issues and his conviction that legal support against banks, funds and debt management companies must be immediate, well-documented and assertive.

His legal philosophy is built on careful study of each case file, timely use of procedural options and a realistic but determined approach. Every payment order, every seizure and every foreclosure auction is treated not as a fait accompli, but as an act that must be rigorously examined — legally and factually.

The office's goal is to provide substantive legal protection, with clarity, honesty and a focus on results. Every case begins with a full assessment of the facts, documents, deadlines and options for defence or negotiation, so that the client knows from the outset what their actual position is and what steps need to be taken.
